Join The Foundation Family — Communications Manager
The Christian Church Foundation is seeking a full-time Communications Manager to join our team that assists Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) individuals, congregations, and other ministries create lasting legacies through planned giving and investment of endowment funds for mission and ministry.
The Communications Manager serves as a communications generalist providing management of public relations, marketing, event support, and social media.
Responsibilities
- Assist with developing and implementing strategic communication plans that support the Foundation’s mission of gathering, stewarding, and distributing dollars for mission
- Create, manage, and execute communications projects, tasks, and events
- Contribute to and execute annual communications plan
- Identify, develop, and share the poignant stories from our donor and ministry partners, illustrating the stewardship of resources and impact of faithfully offered gifts
- Develop, design, and maintain communications tools that effectively educate, inform, and inspire. This may include both print and electronic communication tools (brochures, ads, videos) on ways to give, the work of the Foundation, investment data, news, and announcements.
- Manage meeting and collaboration tools
- Develop and oversee social media messaging, including the Foundation website
- Coordinate event logistics for Board meetings, Disciples Development Conference, and General Assembly
- Serve as a resource to development officers and executives
- Collaborate with ministry partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Prior experience creating clear, concise, and compelling content; designing materials/communication tools; and managing social media platforms
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
- Writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Ability to take initiative and serve as a proactive team player, collaborating with cross-functional teams, ministry partners, donors, Board members, and more
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other communication tools
- Participation in or knowledge of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) desired, but not required
Other
- Position is based in Indianapolis with a hybrid component
- Limited overnight travel is required, approximately 7-10 nights per year
- Physical requirements generally include – ability to sit and/or stand at computer for extended periods; read, review, and prepare documents; lift and carry 20 pounds; and walk .25 miles
