Ruth M. Weaver named Foundation Senior Vice President Emerita
The Christian Church Foundation Board of Directors gathered in a hybrid format April 24-26, 2022. Many members of the Board were able to gather in Indianapolis while other Board members and staff members joined the meeting virtually.
The Board of Directors elected Rev. Dr. Nathan Brown as the newest member of the Board with his term beginning January 1, 2023. Rev. Brown is the Senior Minister of Sandy Spring Christian Church in Sandy Springs, GA. Other board business included meeting with the audit firm, BKD, hearing reports from investment partners, and approving the defined-Income rates for 2023. There was no change in the defined-Income rates from 2022. The 2023 Income rates were approved as follows: Common (3.75%), Beasley (4.00%), Campbell (4.25%), Bostick (4.00%), and Brown (2.00%).
The high point of the meeting was an evening celebrating Senior Vice President Ruth M. Weaver and her ministry and service with the Christian Church Foundation. Ruth joined the Foundation staff in September of 2001 and has served with faithful dedication since then. In honor of Ruth’s ministry with the Foundation she was presented with several gifts and donations to her named permanent fund. Rev. James P. Johnson, Christian Church Foundation President Emeritus, Rev. Randy Johnson, Christian Church Foundation Vice President, and Ms. Lori Lucas, Christian Church Foundation Senior Vice President, each spoke about their work with Ruth and the ministry they shared over the years. Finally, the Board of Directors honored Ruth by naming her Senior Vice President Emerita in recognition of the impact she has had and will continue to have on the ministry of the Christian Church Foundation.
After 21 years with the Foundation, Ruth will retire in June 2022. Lori Lucas was promoted to Senior Vice President January 1, 2022. Lori and Ruth have worked closely together for many years and Lori is looking forward to a seamless transition with the entire treasury team.
The Board’s next meeting will be November 4-6 in Denver, CO.
