Rev. Dr. Nathan Brown New Vice President for Southeast Zone
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – The Christian Church Foundation, Inc. (Foundation) is pleased to announce that the Rev. Dr. Nathan Brown has accepted the call to serve as Vice President of Development for the Southeast Zone.
Brown is currently the Senior Pastor of Sandy Springs Christian Church in Sandy Springs, Georgia where he has served for almost seven years. Prior to Sandy Springs, he served congregations in Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia.
In his new role, Brown will work alongside donors, congregations, and other ministry partners to nurture a passion for stewardship that supports the church through gifts and investments. When Brown begins on September 15, 2024, he will work closely with current Southeast Zone Vice President, Rev. Randy Johnson, to ensure a seamless transition for donors and ministry partners in the Zone. Johnson shares, “I am thrilled that Nathan will be taking over the Southeast Zone following my retirement. His gifts of leadership, pastoral care, and stewardship make him a perfect fit for this ministry. I am comforted knowing that I will be leaving the donors, pastors, and church leaders I love in great hands.”
Foundation President-elect Rev. Matt Rosine says, “Nathan’s deep love for the Disciples and his ministry to congregations throughout the Southeast Zone make him a natural fit for this role. Like Randy, he has the caring heart of a pastor, putting people at ease, even when discussing complex topics. I am excited for our donors and ministry partners to meet Nathan and quickly discover a new lifelong friend.”
Brown graduated with a B.A. in Religion from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX; obtained his M.Div. from Vanderbilt Divinity School in Nashville, TN; and earned his D.Min. in Homiletics from the School of Theology at The University of the South in Sewanee, TN. Brown currently serves on the Board of the Foundation. Previously, he has served as Chair of the Board for the Disciples Divinity House at Vanderbilt Divinity School and on the Regional Boards for both Virginia and Kentucky.
Brown, his wife, Rev. Marion Brown, associate pastor at Roswell United Methodist Church, and their two children, Harrison and Clara, live in Marrietta, GA, where Brown will be based. The Foundation’s Southeast Zone serves donors and Disciples ministries in Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
Christian Church Foundation serves Disciples by gathering, stewarding, and distributing dollars for mission. We do this by identifying and assisting donors who desire to make a difference through planned gifts, and by assisting Disciples ministries to be good stewards of their gifts through sound policies and prudent faith-based investment services.
