The John and Maxine McCaw Scholarship for Prophetic Living, Teaching, and Preaching

John and Maxine McCaw established a scholarship with the Christian Church Foundation for the purpose of encouraging a new generation of Disciples leaders to proclaim the prophetic gospel.

Each spring, the Christian Church Foundation invites Master of Divinity students to apply for the McCaw Scholarship, a grant (payable to the seminary) that supports the student’s education. Grants typically range between $1,000 and $5,000 and are determined based on need. In concert with their values, the McCaws carry specific expectations of their scholarship recipients, namely that recipients commit to serving in pastoral ministry, live a healthy and modest lifestyle, and preach with prophetic freedom. The application deadline is May 31. Recipients will be notified by July 31 and funds will typically be distributed to the student’s school by August 31.
